8th Day

Today is Mommy's 8th day in Heaven. We went to St. Francis this morning to attend the mass which was officiated by Fr. Mike. It's a great feeling I had after the mass and Fr. Mike blessed me. We then went to Mommy's tomb to offer her prayers and burn candles. Breakfast then followed at Chowking. We would have ordered Wanton Noodles for Mommy had she been with us. It was just like when Daddy and I bought some groceries last Tuesday - Daddy got some Royal Orange for Mommy. I guess it's just hard for us to let go of some things. We miss you, Mommy.

Life Goes On

Today is the start of a very different day for me. I can say things are back to normal once again, but I know, some things will never be the same.

I lost my Mom last week and now she's with our Father in Heaven. At last, she can have her eternal rest and feel no more pain. She's had enough and it's time for her be peaceful.

I will miss you, Mommy. I love you!!! See you there...

Cat and Dog

It was nice to watch a full-grown cat and a cute little puppy playing together. Too bad I didn't have my camera with me last night to document it. Anyways, they were really cute. I'll be bringing home my camera tonight so I can catch them on film doing their funny antics.

They're really friends now. They share food from the same plate and frolic at my feet everytime I take my rest. I just love the peaceful feeling I get everytime we do this. I hope it will always be like this.

Workout

Just got back from the gym. I guess I overworked my arms, they're aching now. Tomorrow will be my rest day, so will be Sunday. Got the whole day tomorrow to be in front of the computer and surf the net. I'll try to finish my first Guideposts article - it's a long one.

Late Night Meeting

The meeting was supposed to start at 7 pm, but there were only three of us who came on time, San Simon, Santo Tomas, and me, San Mateo. Santiago Alfeo came in late because he came all the way from Calamba where he is currently employed. The meeting actually started around 8 pm but dinner came first. It was wine after that, and while we were drinking, the meeting proper started and it was about us Apostles being active in church activities. We are all willing to help, sincerely.

The conversation went to different topics and it was a great conversation we had. It even took us till 2:30 am to finish the meeting because we were all interested and we all shared our points-of-view. I hope we can have more nights like this.

Meeting at the Church

Mike texted me and said we're gonna have a meeting at the church this afternoon. I became quite excited because we will all see each other again. I wonder what this meeting is for...

A Nice Night Swimming

Night swimming with church people? I thought at first I'm not gonna have any bit of fun, but it was really great. We were supposed to be 12, the Apostles, but two weren't able to come. One was Saint Peter, the oldest, who is old enough to be my father. The other was, okay, just like the rest of us, YOUNG, but he didn't come because he was busy because he was Judas Iscariot. There was a running joke telling that he wouldn't be able to come because he is still hanging on a tree. Joking aside, he didn't go for he was busy managing traffic last Saturday, which was, HELL. I took a longer route from Sta. Ana to Calihan just so I can avoid the traffic but when I reach Maharlika Hi-way, just when I was a only few meters from Calihan, I was caught in the gnarl of vehicles and took me 45 minutes to reach my destination. This was another reason why the 7:00 pm agreed time of meeting was delayed to 10:00 pm. Add to that waiting for Saint Andrew, who in the first place set the meeting time to 7:00 pm. Well, so came the ten of us and we headed to Mejia Resort in Calamba where Father Mike, Father Danny, and other people were waiting for us.

It was a good thing there was no traffic in Calamba. When we entered the resort, they were already swimming (except the two priests, who waited for us.) Then Tita Flor bought food for us, Binalot Sa Dahon (tapsilog), Andok's Chicken, and Pork Barbecue. Cigarette break. Father Danny brought Fundador while Father Mike asked St. John to buy Gilbey's Gin (smelled like Eskinol after adding lime juice.) While drinking, we had this nice conversation about the Church which even enlightened St. James and St. Simon. After we finished the wine, we all headed to the pool to cool off and then sang at the videoke. What happened at the videoke was funny. We were all calling Father Danny to sing, "Father, Father, kayo naman! Hihingi tayo ng second collection!" Dennis, the pianist, joked that "Insenso na lang po ang kulang!" The girls near us were laughing and whispering, "Mga seminarista yan!" Imagine being mistaken for seminarians. Some of us were smoking during that time and our voices were really loud, and then being thought of as seminarians. At the kubo, we all laughed about it. We all dressed up and then took a short nap, a very short one, inside the van. It was 4:30 am, we decided it was time to head home. So off we went and it was a quiet ride, I guess all were sleeping, except the driver, who happened to be me. St. John, who was beside me, didn't sleep either.

It was a nice outing, great, in fact. I hope there will be others like this. I also hope that the Junior Holy Name Society they talked about that night will push through (I was in the shower room.) Being with them is nice, and honestly, it makes me happy. Maybe, just maybe, I found my brothers already.

April

April is the fourth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of four with the length of 30 days.

April begins (astrologically) with the sun in the sign of Aries and ends in the sign of Taurus. Astronomically speaking, the sun begins in the constellation of Pisces and ends in the constellation of Aries.

The name is derived from the Latin aprilis, either from the Latin word aperire which means "to open", probably referring to growing plants in spring, or from the Etruscan name Apru for Aphrodite.

April was originally the second month of the Roman calendar and had 29 days. Julius Caesar's calendar reform in 45 BCE resulted in April having 30 days and becoming the fourth month, as the year now began in January.
